This means you can easily perform bacteria transformation and genetic engineering experiments from the comfort of your desk. With all-in-one heating and cooling, touch controls, and sensors, the DNA Playground saves 1-2 hours of setup/cleanup time each time you use it!

There are two different versions of the DNA Playground: Home & Large
The DNA Playground Home: Enables one individual/group to complete one Amino Labs experiment at a time. This smaller unit is compatible with all Zero to Genetic Engineering Hero exercises, with the exception of the Light-it Kit in Chapter 7.
• The DNA Playground Home can incubate 2 small (6 cm) petri dishes at a time.
• The DNA Playground Home allows you to perform one experiment at a time.
DNA Playground Large: Enables up to four individuals/groups to do up to four Amino Labs experiments at a time. The DNA Playground large is typically used in the classroom environment; however, if you're an at home-learner, a DNA Playground Large will allow you more flexibility in the future if you choose to start doing your own experiments! The DNA Playground Large is compatible with all Zero to Genetic Engineering Hero exercises.
• The DNA Playground Large can incubate 8 small (6 cm) petri dishes or 2 standard (10 cm) petri dishes at a time.
• The DNA Playground Large allows for up to 4 Amino Labs experiments to be performed at the same time, so can be shared by 4 student teams in the classroom.
At home:
At home, the DNA Playground is an easy, all-in-one solution to get your home lab started! Its small size fits easily on your desk and can be stored away when not in use. Safe and easy to use, the DNA Playground also features a locked incubator to prevent animals and younger family members from accidentally getting into your experiments.
In the classroom:
In the classroom, the DNA Playground™ empowers and engages students as the students can control and monitor the temperature stations via the touchscreen. These mini-labs are unlike any other genetic engineering equipment out there - they are designed for students that have no prior knowledge of using traditional biotechnology equipment!
To maximize fun and success, we recommend you opt for one or more DNA Playground Large. Each DNA Playground Large can cater to up to four groups of students. Depending on your desired student group sizes, you'll typically use between one and eight DNA Playground Large. The DNA Playground also reduces set up and clean up time by up to an hour and results in much less mess.
Moreover, because these small units take only seconds to turn off and unplug they can easily be stored away in a cupboard until the next time - this means you do not need to set up and maintain a dedicated laboratory space or classroom to run cutting edge genetic engineering activities.
Lastly, because DNA Playgrounds are small and contained units, we've learned that many teachers also send DNA Playground units home with students to complete extra activities at home - how exciting!
