We want the next generation to understand and leverage biotechnology to solve some of humanity's biggest challenges.

Community Mentoring & Sponsorship

In the 1990s, Canadian policy makers and educators had the foresight to see the importance digital technology would play in the future of Canada. This resulted in broad sweeping education involving computers being implemented in schools. To ensure future generations could navigate the future digital world, the programs had simple, specific goals: to provide basic skills and understanding of digital technologies. Many of us benefited directly from this program, and others like it around the globe.

Today, biotechnology is already a crucial part of our society. While medicine, crops and general-consumer goods made from biotechnology benefit consumers, public fear of little- understood genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or genetically modified (GM) products is widespread.

As biotechnology become ever more embedded in society, it is of the utmost importance that future generations are able to understand the nature of biotechnology products and their origins, as well as the morality of use from an informed standpoint.
