Keep-it Kit™: Preserve and collect your experiments results

After any experiment, one of the best feelings is showing off your results! Preserve living paintings and engineered bacteria with this specialized resin. 

Keep your engineered bacteria immortalized with this Keep-it Kit™. You can even touch it once it sets!

Enough material to immortalize 3 to 24 Petri dishes plates of engineered bacteria, depending on the size of kit you choose. Did you use the Canvas Kit™ to create a bacterial painting? Immortalize that too! This STEM experiment kit is also great to demonstrate experiment results in science class, visual arts class, before community outreach or DIYbio events. 

For this art-meets-science project, you will:

1. Prepare your Petri dishes,
2. mix the 2part resin using the mixing bag,
3. pour the mixesd resin on the Petri dishes you want to preserve,
4. let dry and use the petri dish stands to display proudly!

(1) Keep-it Kit in Individual, Group or Bulk size: Two-part resin, mixing bag, petri dish stands.

• Individual Kits: An individual kit with all the ingredients needed for preserving and displaying 3 Petri dishes. Great for preserving the bioart paintings for an individual Canvas kit or experiment results from Engineer-it Kits.

• Classroom/Group Kits: Eight individually packaged kits with the needed ingredients to preserve and display 3 Petri dishes each, for a total of 24. Great for preserving the bioart paintings for a group Canvas kit or experiment results from Engineer-it Kits.

• Bulk Kits: 1 bulk package of the two-part resin to preserve and display up to 24 Petri dishes. Great for preserving the bioart paintings from a group Canvas kit or experiment results from Engineer-it Kits all at once.

• Instructions: a manual with easy-to-understand vocabulary and step-by-step procedures and a real-time video to follow along to. See the Resources tab for links!

We recommend wearing gloves and putting down used paper or plastic to protect your work surface from any resin spills when completing this kit.

Cleaning and safety supplies are not included in the kit. Necessary safety and cleaning supplies are latex or nitrile gloves, and a chlorinated bleach cleaner or a 10% solution of chlorinated bleach in a spray bottle (you can make this by adding 9 parts water to 1 part bleach in a spray bottle). You can add a Mini Safety Set to your kit which includes gloves and a reusable plastic apron to protect your clothes.

Storage

This experiment kit should be stored at room temperature (out of direct sunlight). Do not refrigerate.
