Join one of our expert scientists to learn Protein Design and Molecular Modelling!

This 4-class biotechnology online course allows you to design and build your own proteins as you learn the concepts, skills and rules behind molecular modelling and protein design. 

Whether you are looking to learn a new biotechnology skill or to start creating your own proteins as part of a science fair project, iGEM team or DIY experiment, this course will help you reach your goal! Each student will get to learn the basics and apply them in their own project, which will be reviewed and guided by our expert scientist. You'll have the chance to ask your questions, troubleshoot your protein interactions and think through your project throughout this three week period. 

If you have completed the Zero to Genetic Engineering learning journey, this course will teach you how to use the theory and skills you gained to go beyond kit experiment and start creating your own projects!

 at-home project Design and model your own protein project

A basic understanding of macromolecules, protein and chemical bonding is required. Students can gain this understanding from the Zero to Genetic Engineering Hero book chapters 5 and 6.  

Students will need a good internet connection, a laptop or desktop computer and the free or paid version of  PyMOL | pymol.org
